In the village:
You need to visit Guttenberg and the Priest. After visiting the
Priest, Guttenberg will tell you to complete the training area. Do that
and then visit the Priest again and he will open the first portal for
you. NOTE: Each of the following areas contain both a piece of armor and an
angel who will upgrade your sword. Explore each area fully to find both.
Mesa Verde:
This is the abandoned Indian village, search out the first cave
entrance. Try and help the Indian Chief here and he will reward you
well. Work your way through all the caves and make your way to the top
of the Mesa to fight the Thunderbird. The Thunderbird has some powerful
attacks, so be careful. Make sure you've found the crossbow before
fighting him.
The Sphinx:
The Sphinx is full of traps and you must use your wits to get
through it. Look around the room after the pillars have all fallen and
see what you can find. The dog-headed fellows will follow you endlessly,
so kill them when you see them, don't run to avoid fighting them. When
you've made it to level 2 of the Sphinx and gotten past the traps, you
come to a room with a big pyramid and holes in the ceiling: Find the
right hole to escape and recover the book piece.
Scottish Castle:
The music here is peaceful, but the environment is anything but.
Loft your arrows to take out archers and search the rooms for hidden
ammo and health. Talk to the troll, he offers a quest and a valuable
reward once completed. To enter the main castle, you must kill all four
archers up in the towers. Once inside, work your way to the top to fight Grendel. Grendel is a very formidable opponent who caves the ceiling in
on you and splits the ground open. Have five 'freeze' arrows notched up
and hit him at very close range when he first appears. Keep pounding him with holy arrows and staff scatter shots to take him down. Use the two
scrolls in the room sparingly. Once Grendel is defeated, the far door
will open, allowing access to the book piece and the escape portal.
Japanese Fortress:
This area is full of mazes and must be explored fully. The tremor
staff works very well against the ninjas and use the sword on the
dragons. The dragons explode when defeated, so stand back when fighting
them. When you come to the sliding door maze, there are two exits, one
to the armor and one to the back courtyard. If you can't find the armor
exit, examine the Zen garden in the back courtyard to help you. The
inside of the pagoda is a 3-dimensional maze and is full of monsters.
Work your way to the top to find the book piece and the exit.
